Teresa Buttars

3rd Grade

I am thrilled to be teaching third grade at Bear River Charter School and to be part of such an amazing community. BRCS is a wonderful place to teach and learn, and I feel lucky to be in this profession doing what I love. I strive to create a caring, safe, and engaging learning environment, which encourages students to believe in themselves and do their personal best. I love the quote by Theodore Roosevelt, “Believe you can and you are halfway there.” I hope to make a difference in the life of each child that I have the privilege of teaching. My greatest goal is to help my students develop a lifelong love for learning.

I grew up in Cache Valley and am the oldest of five siblings. I wanted to become a teacher for as long as I can remember. In college, I enjoyed learning about how to help individual students reach their fullest potential. This inspired me to get my Bachelor's degree in Special Education from Utah State University. After graduating, I finished my Elementary Education teaching endorsement. I taught second and third grades at the Cache Valley Learning Center for fifteen years. In 2010, I began teaching third grade at Bear River Charter School and have been here ever since.

Outside of teaching, I enjoy the outdoors, traveling, reading, crafts, watching soccer, and spending time with my husband and four wonderful daughters.
