Biography

Hey there!  My name is Katie Jo Olsen (Miss Jo) and I love teaching and creating a safe, inclusive, and loving environment for children.  I am extremely passionate about Educational Psychology and Social-Emotional Learning and am beyond excited to share my knowledge with my Kindergarten Class at Bear River Charter School.  I graduated from Utah State University in 2021 with my B.S. in Elementary Education.  My previous teaching experience includes 3 years teaching creative drama with Unicorn Children’s Theater, 18 years teaching private music lessons and 5 1/2 years teaching Music at Woodruff Elementary School.   When I am not in the classroom, you can find me working to bring artistic opportunities to the children of our community as the Cache Valley Center for the Arts - Art camp Director or performing music around the State of Utah as a singer songwriter, or with one of my bands.
